What are CA Exams ?
One of the hardest exams in India is the CA test, also called the ICAI exam, which is administered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The CA test consists of three levels: CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final. After passing all three exams, students will receive their chartered accountant, or CA, designation and join the ICAI. These tests are administered twice a year, in the May/June and November/December sessions.
The dates, forms, and admit cards for the May 2024 CA exams have been made public by ICAI. The exam dates for Group 1 and Group 2 are May 11, 15, and 17, 2024, respectively, and the dates for the May 2024 exam are May 03, 05, and 09, 2024, according to previous trends announced by ICAI.

Levels of ICAI CA Exams
As mentioned above, there are three levels of the CA examinations that are explained in the following section.
CA Foundation Exam: Passing the CA Foundation Exam is a requirement for becoming a chartered accountant. Exams for the CA Foundation course are administered twice a year by the ICAI, in December and June. Students are required to register with the Board of Studies (BoS) upon passing the class X exams. Students who pass their exams in the 12th grade are eligible to enroll in Foundation level courses.
The Second Level: the CA Intermediate exam, is split into two groups, each consisting of four subjects. To take the CA intermediate exam, students need to pass the CA foundation exam or be a graduate.
The CA Final Exam : is the last test taken in the process of becoming a chartered accountant. Students are able to register for the CA Final exams during the articleship time, but only after passing both CA Intermediate levels. There are two groups at the CA Final level, with four papers in each group.
Eligibility Criteria of CA Exams for each level
CA Foundation Level: Students must pass class 12 or an equivalent test from an approved board to be eligible for the CA Foundation Level, per ICAI eligibility rules. At least 50% of the class 12 grades must be earned by students in the commerce stream. In other programs, students need to obtain at least 55% to be eligible for the CA foundation level.
CA Intermediate Level: There are two ways for students to register for the CA Intermediate level: the straight entry route and the CA foundation method. The following are the prerequisites for both routes’ eligibility:
CA foundation route: To register from this route, students must need to pass the CA foundation exam with 50% aggregate marks and 40% marks in each subject.
Direct Entry Route: Students can apply immediately for the CA intermediate level after completing their diploma in any stream. For students pursuing this route, graduation requirements are as follows: 60% for science students and 55% for commerce students.
CA Final Level: To be eligible for the CA final level, students need to pass both groups of CA intermediate level and complete at least 2.5 years of articleship training under a certified firm.
ICAI CA Exam Dates 2024 for Foundation, Intermediate, and Final
ICAI has released the dates of the CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final exams of 2024. The CA intermediate exams will be held from May 03 to 17, 2024, and the CA final exams will be from May 02 to 16, 2024. CA Foundation exams will be conducted in June 2024 from June 20 to June 26, 2024.

How to Apply for CA Exams?
Students can apply for the CA exams from the ICAI official website. Below mentioned are steps to apply for the CA Foundation exams;
- Go to the e-service portal and complete the necessary fields. Upon selecting the “generate OTP” button, an email and phone number associated with your account will be provided.
- Input the OTP you were sent to finish the registration process. You’ll be given a registration number, or SRN.
- Create a self-service portal, or SSP, now. After selecting “Don’t have a login to SSP yet,” entering your DOB and SRN, and clicking “validate,”
- Upon approval, you will receive an email and an SMS with your login credentials. To log in, enter your credentials.
- Select the “Register for Exam” tab under the exam function, and then select “foundation exam form.” Examine the instructions and enter the necessary information. Before completing the exam form, make sure your photo and signature are up to date.
- After completing the form, click “Next.” On the declaration form, check the “agree” option. There will be a page asking for payment
- Pay INR 1500 for exam fees. After payment completion, the exam application form is successfully submitted. Download the Exam receipt.
ICAI CA Exams Forms 2024
The exam form for the May 2024 CA exams will shortly be available from ICAI. Furthermore, ICAI established the exam form correction opportunity. In February 2024, the ICAI announced the exam form date on its official website. January 1, 2024 is the registration deadline for the May/June 2024 test.

Test admission cards for all levels will be made available on ICAI’s official website fifteen days before the CA intermediate and CA final tests in May 2024. The admit card was released by ICAI fifteen days before the examinations. The CA admission card 2023 can be downloaded from the ICAI official website by using their login credentials.
